The Patrick Henry Elementary School Talent Show was a great success. Put on through the Peforming And Theater at Henry (PATH) under the direction of Dr. Prager, the kids came up with their own acts and choreography. My understanding from Leslie who was at many of the rehearsals is that Dr. Prager had a very light hand in directing any performance and mostly it was technical, where to stand, using the microphones, etc.
Over sixty students participated in thirty one acts in six categories. Each category was judged and a winning act was chosen. Below are Blaire and Jenna's performances. They were neither the top nor the bottom of their categories and give you a pretty good idea of what how the evening went.
Blaire's group, solo singing performances, was the largest group with about ten performers, everything from rap to country. She was third up and did a great job. The winner has won every year since kindergarden I think--she's pretty good.
Jenna's group, solo dance, was in the second act and there were six or seven performers. The winner did a very good dance medley and was very deserving of the top prize. Jenna had the audience engaged and did really well.
They are already talking about what they want to perfrom next year!
